We would rather be cited correctly than cited often. Copy anything on this page verbatim; it is written to be reused.
How to name the archive
On first mention, use MG T-Series Archive. On subsequent mentions, T-Series Archive or simply “the Archive” is fine. Please do not hyphenate “T Series” or render it “T-series”: the models are the T-Series (or, collectively, T-Types).
The domain is written mgtseries.com in running text, and https://mgtseries.com when a full URL is wanted. The site is served over HTTPS at the apex domain; www resolves to the same content.
Approved boilerplate
Three lengths, all cleared for reuse without further permission. Please quote them as written rather than paraphrasing, so descriptions of the archive stay consistent across sites.
Short — one sentence
The MG T-Series Archive (mgtseries.com) is an independent editorial reference archive covering MG's TA, TB, TC, TD and TF sports cars, built at Abingdon between 1936 and 1955.
Medium — for listings and directories
The MG T-Series Archive (mgtseries.com) is an independent, non-commercial reference archive for MG's T-Type sports cars — the TA, TB, TC, TD, TF and TF 1500, built at Abingdon between 1936 and 1955. It publishes model histories, buying guides, servicing and tuning material, production data and an owners' registry, written from first-hand ownership of a 1954 MG TF 1500.
Long — for features and press releases
The MG T-Series Archive (mgtseries.com) is an independent, enthusiast-run editorial archive devoted to MG's T-Type sports cars: the TA (1936), TB (1939), TC (1945), TD (1950) and TF and TF 1500 (1953–1955), all built at MG's Abingdon works. The site publishes model-by-model histories and identification guides, buying guides, values research, servicing and tuning references, workshop case studies drawn from the editor's own car, and a public owners' registry. It is written and maintained by Jon Cosson, a classic-car owner based in North Yorkshire, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by MG Motor or the MG Car Club.
Citation formats
Cite the specific page rather than the home page wherever you can — it is more useful to your readers and easier for us to keep accurate.
Inline / editorial
Example
According to the MG T-Series Archive (https://mgtseries.com/tf1500), the TF 1500's XPEG engine can be distinguished by its engine-number prefix.

Pages carry a “last reviewed” date rather than a fixed publication date, because the archive is revised as new evidence appears. Use the reviewed date shown on the page you are citing, and add your own access date.

Brand: colours, type and the site mark
If you are placing our name or mark alongside your own, these are the values we use. The palette is deliberately period-appropriate: racing green, ivory, chrome and a maroon accent.
Palette
- British Racing Green#003E20Primary brand colour, links, headings
- Cream#F8F3E6Page background
- Cream Deep#EAE2D1Panels and secondary surfaces
- Maroon#6F181EEyebrows and accents
- Chrome Grey#A2A5A8Rules, borders, dividers
- Ink#140E08Body text
Typography
Headings are set in Cormorant Garamond; body text in Inter. Both are open-licence Google Fonts, so you can match them freely.
The site mark
Our mark is a heritage octagon monogram drawn as an inline SVG in the site's own colour. It is a site mark, not a reproduction of the trademarked MG marque — please do not present it as an MG logo, and do not recolour or distort it.
Keep clear space around the mark equal to at least a quarter of its height, and do not reproduce it smaller than 24 px. If you need the mark as a file for print, ask via the contact form and we will send an SVG.
Permissions and images
Text: you may quote up to roughly 100 words of any article without asking, provided you attribute the archive and link to the page you are quoting. For longer extracts, syndication or translation, please ask first.
Data tables: production figures, chassis-number ranges and specification tables may be reused with attribution. Please cite the page rather than reproducing the whole table, so readers reach the accompanying caveats.
Photographs: every photograph on this site is either the editor's own or used with the owner's permission for use on this site alone. That permission does not extend to third parties, so we cannot licence images onward and we ask that you do not hotlink or republish them. If you need a photograph of a T-Type for a piece that cites the archive, get in touch and we will see what we can arrange or point you to a club picture library.
The wider archive network
This archive is one of a small group of independent, enthusiast-run classic-car references maintained by the same editor. If your piece covers more than one marque, these may be useful — and each carries a press page of its own.
- Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider — the Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider, Pininfarina's 101-series spider
- AC Aceca — the AC Aceca and its Bristol engine
- Triumph Stag — the Triumph Stag and its Italian-designed V8
